UFC lightweight fighter and commentator Paul Felder has announced his retirement from MMA.
Felder shared the news during the UFC Vegas 27 broadcast, saying that the decision had been on his mind since his February 2020 fight against Dan Hooker.

Prior to signing with the UFC in 2014, Felder was the CFFC Lightweight Champion. His career with the UFC saw him pick up wins against notable fighters like Edson Barboza and James Vick. Felder also picked up a TKO win against current UFC Lightweight Champion Charles Oliveira in 2017, making him the last person to defeat Oliveira at the time of this article’s publication.
Felder is also known for his willingness to step up and save the day on short notice. Last year, he took a brief break from commentating at a UFC event to corner his friend and teammate Jared Gordon when the rest of Gordon’s team and coaches had tested positive for COVID-19. He also kept the UFC Vegas 14 main event alive by stepping in on five days’ notice to fight Rafael dos Anjos after Islam Makhachev had to withdraw from the bout.
Felder will be continuing his career as a commentator for the UFC, so don’t worry — this won’t be the last we’ll see of him in the MMA world.
