Paul Craig Earns Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt After Victory At UFC 263

Scottish UFC fighter Paul Craig has earned his black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu.

The promotion follows Craig’s impressive victory at UFC 263 over Jamahal Hill, in which Craig dislocated Hill’s arm with an armbar. The referee didn’t stop the fight, and Hill’s arm flopped around for a while while the fighters continued until the referee finally stopped the action at 1:59 in round one. The fight was ruled a TKO due to the ref stoppage.

Paul received the promotion from coach Brian Gallacher in a post-fight outing.

Craig’s jiu-jitsu skills are well known in the MMA world; thirteen of his fifteen professional MMA wins have come by way of submission. He also won gold at the British National Pro as a purple belt in 2015.
