Patchy Mix silenced the Dublin crowd as he scored an upset win over hometown-favorite, James Gallagher.
Their fight closely resembled a grappling match, with guillotine attacks coming from both fighters in the early rounds.
In round 3, however, Gallagher, a John Kavanagh student and teammate of Conor McGregor, threw a right hand and followed up with a shot for a single leg takedown. Not only did Mix block the punch, but he also snagged Gallagher’s neck and locked in a standing guillotine. From there, he jumped guard and brought Gallagher to the ground, then locked a body triangle. He was able to sweep and come on top while holding the guillotine to catch the tap, securing his victory.
