The number of known gogoplatta victories in professional MMA can quite literally be counted on one hand.
Nick Diaz is of course one of the MMA greats who pulled off the infamous “shin choke” in a professional fight, though his win was later overturned after he tested positive for (surprise, surprise) marijuana.
Last Friday, ONE Championship (ONE FC)’s Taiwanese atomweight, Jenny Huang, etched her name next to Diaz’s when she pulled off the same choke in the same round at ONE FC’s Age of Domination.
Jenny took on Filipina and hometown hero, April Osenio.
At first, it looked like the match would be an easy win for April, as she dominated her Taiwanese opponent with Team Lakay’s infamous front kicks.
However, Jenny’s grappling dominance became evident when she took her opponent to the ground. Huang controlled from the back, and mounted Osenio with seeming ease. Towards the end of the second round, when the Filipina managed to roll Jenny off of her, the Taiwanese grappling specialist positioned her shin under Osenio’s neck and pulled down on her head, leaving April with no choice put to frantically tap out.

Jenny Huang is notable for being the first and only female professional mixed martial artist from Taiwan. She is a judoka and BJJ blue belt.
She was also trained by the Jiu-Jitsu Times very own Mark Mullen, among other instructors. Jenny told me she would also like thank her coach, ONE FC bantamweight “Sam” Ming Yen Sung for everything he has done for her.
Jenny’s win over Osenio not only pushes her undefeated MMA streak up to 5-0, but makes her a serious contender for MMA gold in ONE Championship, and maybe, one day, the UFC.
