After making their way up the bracket, Nick Rodriguez and 10th Planet’s Kyle Boehm went head to head in a match for third place at Kasai Pro 7.
The first action of the match took place when Boehm pulled guard on Rodriguez, then moved to rubber guard as Rodriguez tried to dominate with a body lock pass. After disengaging, Rodriguez then managed to get past Boehm’s legs. Boehm turtled up, and Rodriguez worked to get his hooks in, but initially managed to get only one in. He applied a rear naked choke, but Boehm managed to roll out and avoid getting submitted. Boehm wasn’t, however, able to prevent Rodriguez from getting to mount, and Rodriguez won the match via points and earned third place.
