Last week, former Strikeforce Welterweight Champion and former UFC welterweight title contender Nick Diaz spoke with the people at MYMMANEWS, to discuss USADA suspensions, Mayweather vs. McGregor, and BJJ.
Diaz, a black belt in BJJ under Cesar Gracie, opined:
I’ve always had a really good basic fundamentals and I’ve had really good instructors, you know, sambo coaches and jiu-jitsu coaches. But a lot of times, I would get into the habit of going really hard…you know, I’d have fights coming up and Jake Shields, and all these guys are wrestlers, so they don’t want to talk about the technique they used to do in high school. They experts now. But in jiu-jitsu, it’s like you’re never an expert.
