Nicholas Meregali To Face Victor Hugo In “Who’s #1” Main Event

FloGrappling has announced one of their main events for their upcoming Who’s #1 competition.

The company has shared that Nicholas Meregali will be going up against Victor Hugo in the February event. Hugo, who has won his division at Worlds every year since 2016 as a purple and brown belt, had a spectacular black belt debut at No-Gi Worlds this year, submitting Roberto “Cyborg” Abreu with a kneebar to win the open weight division.

Meregali is also a highly decorated athlete, winning Worlds as a purple and brown belt in 2014, 2015, and 2016 before getting promoted to black belt and winning the prestigious tournament in both 2017 and 2019.

The match between Meregali and Hugo won’t be the first time they’ve faced each other. The two battled it out in the quarter-finals of the recent BJJ Stars event, and Meregali took the victory via points before ultimately going on to win the entire thing.

Meregali vs. Hugo and many other exciting matches will take place at FloGrappling’s Who’s #1 on Saturday, February 8 in Costa Mesa, CA.
