Nicholas Meregali has enjoyed a very good competitive year both in and out of the gi, and his latest performance on the WNO stage was no exception to his current success streak.
On Thursday, May 18, he squared off with Pedro Marinho in WNO’s main event. Unlike the majority of WNO matches, these two elected to compete in the gi. After five minutes of action, Meregali secured a mounted triangle, forcing the tap from Marinho.
The success of the event may set a precedent for more high-profile opportunities for gi competitors.
