Need Some Challenges With Your Challenges? Try A BJJ Tournament At 14,000 Feet

Anyone who’s ever competed in jiu-jitsu knows that it’s easier to feel out of breath and exhausted when you’re competing than when you’re just rolling in class. But if you thought a tournament near sea level is tough, imagine doing it on a mountain.

A few tough BJJ practitioners put themselves to the test when they decided to head to Colorado’s Mt. Evans for a small jiu-jitsu tournament all the way up at 14,271 feet. The competition wasn’t nearly as big as your standard IBJJF tournament (or even your average local tournament), but with a few modifications — such as not allowing chokes due to the elevation — this group managed to have their second unique and hopefully fun challenge way up in the mountains. Take a look!
