Nathiely de Jesus wins double gold at Atlanta Open
Nathiely’s two gold medals.
Last Saturday, the Georgia International Convention Center held another edition of the Atlanta Open.
Three fighters ended up getting double gold: Nathiely de Jesus (Cícero Costha) and the Alliance duo of Matheus Diniz and Marcos Tinoco.
Without any opponents in her weight division, Nathiely fought twice in the absolute: first she defeated Jennifer Case (Renato Tavares BJJ) and then she won the final against Yacinta Nguyen-Huu (Toronto BJJ).
Alliance was the dominant team in the men’s section. Gianni Grippo took gold at lightweight. Afterwards, Marcos Tinoco prevailed at middleweight, and later Matheus Diniz closed out the medium heavyweight division with John Satava. In the absolute, Tinoco and Diniz closed it out for Alliance.
Alliance took the teams title with 483 points, followed by Roberto Traven at 314 and Gracie Barra at 171.
