This Monday, April 23, is your last chance to register and compete at the 5th American Cup.
As is now the standard, some stalwart names are confirmed for the tournament that will shake up San Jose, California, on the 28th of this month. Submission wizards like Diego Herzog, Samir Chantre, Sandro Batata, Marcos Torregrosa, Augusto Queixinho, Carlos Mello, Nathan Mandelsohn, Tamer Rice and others are already gearing up for the show.
Along with Claudio França‘s impeccable organization, this year the tourney will be featuring electronic roll call and brackets checks, modern scoreboards and a timetable carried out to the tee—not to mention exclusive medals for the winners and a plumb T-shirt for everyone signed up.
RAFFLE FOR ALL-COSTS-PAID TRIP TO NY PRIDE
Another attraction is the round-trip plane ticket to New York, to be raffled off to all the adult competitors. The package will include two days of room and board next September for the New York Pride tournament.
Now the refereeing will be overseen by IBJJF Director of Refereeing Alvaro Mansur, with some of the top Jiu-Jitsu referees arbitrating the matches. Before the action begins, there will be a refereeing course that is open to all, a prime opportunity.
So quit being calm (a quality common to Jiu-Jitsu practitioners) for a moment, and rush to secure your spot on the mats at San Jose, California’s Independence High School.
The discount rate ends this Friday, but the final sign-up deadline is this coming Monday, April 23. For further information on the course and to get your name on the roster, click americancupbjj.com.
