MMA In New York: Are they taking opportunities away from local fighters?

Since the inception of mixed martial arts in 1993, the UFC has been trying their hardest to hold a show at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Their most recent attempt to get back to New York was shut down, but that does not mean that the sports supporters are not giving up as MMA Supporters Think 2016 is their Year. The UFC had planned on holding an April 2016 event in Madison Square Garden with UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier defends against Jon Jones in a rematch from their UFC bout a year or so back. New York is the only state left in the United States Of America that the UFC and any other MMA organization can run in, but the promotion and their longtime fans feel that is they keep supporting the eventual move to the state, that it will come to fruition in the future.
