On Friday night, Invicta fighter Julia Avila suffered a horrific hand injury that forced the referee to end the fight.
According to MMA Fighting (linked below), Julia’s opponent, Marciea Allen, threw a kick that “landed awkwardly” on Avila’s left hand, breaking her finger.
Broken hands and digits are fairly common in MMA, but not the one Julia suffered. In her case, Allen’s kick resulted in her bone protruding through skin:
