Mikey Musumeci’s 12-Second Ankle Lock Was The Fastest Submission In The History Of IBJJF Worlds Finals

We all knew that Mikey Musumeci’s straight ankle lock that won him gold at IBJJF Worlds over the weekend was quick, but just how fast was it? Well, enough to win him both Worlds and a new record.

Musumeci’s submission, which he got the tap with in just twelve seconds against Rodnei Junior, turned out to be the fastest submission in the history of finals at the IBJJF World Championship. The ankle lock won him the roosterweight title, which was his third consecutive World title as a black belt.
