Michelle Nicolini, world champion jiujiteira turned MMA battler, is returning to the ring next month to square off against ONE champ Angela Lee in Kuala Lumpur. The matchup, scheduled for July 12, will take place at 125lbs.
Nicolini was an IBJJF Worlds champion from 2010-2014, having won in 2006 and 2007 as well. (She won ADCC during that run too.) The grappler transitioned into mixed martial arts in 2014, starting out with Legacy before signing to ONE. All of her cage match wins have been by submission. With a pro record of 5-2, she is coming off a loss to Tiffany Teo back in November.
Lee is the reigning 115lb. title holder. Her most recent fight–her first at 125–resulted in her first “L,” against Xiong Jingnan. Her record stands at 9-1.
