Megaton, Mario Sperry, Titi e mais campeões no segundo dia de Mundial Master de Jiu-Jitsu

Em seu segundo dia de lutas, o Mundial Master da IBJJF recebeu mais uma legião de professores veteranos para as disputas na faixa-preta. O torneio, que contou com mais de 20 áreas em enorme ginásio de Las Vegas, teve nessa sexta-feira, dia 25, as disputas do master 3 ao 7.

No master 3, alguns nomes brilharam com destaque, como é o caso do nosso GMI Cristiano “Titi” Lazzarini, líder da BH Rhinos que representou a Gracie Barra com o ouro na divisão de pesos pesados. Campeões mundiais como adulto em priscas eras, Omar Salum (Gracie Humaitá) e Cássio Werneck (Cassio Werneck BJJ) também brilharam este ano, com os ouros nos pesos pluma e leve, respectivamente.

Também no master 3, Fabiano “Pega Leve” Scherner pegou o ouro no pesadíssimo. No absoluto, nosso GMI Roberto Godói (G13) chegou à finalíssima, mas acabou superado por Viktor Doria (Fight Sports), o que lhe rendeu a segunda prata no torneio, após conquistar a primeira no peso super pesado.

No master 4, o destaque ficou para a casca-grossa Karlona Hipólito (Top Brother). Acostumada a competir no adulto em torneios brasucas, a experiente competidora entrou como uma máquina no master e faturou peso e absoluto.

No master 5, algumas lendas do esporte mostraram o porquê de terem o nome escrito na história da arte suave. Com sua tradição de levinhos valentes, a Gracie Humaitá levou ouro duplo na divisão com o inoxidável Wellington “Megaton” Diaz. Atleta de larga quilometragem nos mundiais adulto e master, desde a criação dos mesmos, o pai de Mackenzie Dern brilhou primeiro com o ouro no peso-pena, para em seguida encarar o gigante Zé Mario Sperry pelo título absoluto. Com duas raspagens, Megaton bateu Sperry e reinou no aberto.

Ainda no master 5, dois veteranos da equipe Carlson Gracie, Zé Mario e Luis “Bebeo” Duarte, conquistaram o título mundial nas divisões de super pesado e pesadíssimo, respectivamente. Já no master 6, o pai de Marcus Buchecha, Clayton Almeida (Zenith), ficou com o ouro na faixa-preta pesadíssimo.
