Max Holloway And Brian Ortega To Headline UFC 231

Max Holloway has officially been cleared to fight and will finally face Brian Ortega in a long-awaited fight at UFC 231 in December, as reported first by MMAJunkie. And better yet, the featherweight title fight will headline the event.

The matchup was originally intended to take place back at UFC 226 in July, but Holloway was pulled after experiencing symptoms that indicated a possible concussion. Now, he’ll be facing Ortega for the featherweight title. Ortega is thus far undefeated in his professional MMA career, which has included 14 fights. Holloway, on the other hand, is 19-3 and the current number-one ranked featherweight UFC fighter, per the USA Today Sports rankings.

UFC 231 will take place on December 8 in Toronto, Canada.
