Legendary jiu-jitsu competitor Marcus “Buchecha” Almeida is wasting no time in his burgeoning MMA career. Just a month removed from his successful professional MMA debut in late September, Almeida is planning a return to the ONE Championship cage, likely in early December.
Almeida posted on Instagram about his next MMA fight, and according to the time frame given by Almeida, he is likely planning to compete at ONE Championship: One X, scheduled for December 5.
In his professional MMA debut, Almeida took no damage and made quick work on his opponent, submitting Anderson “Braddock” Silva with a north-south choke at ONE Championship: Revolution.
No opponent has yet been announced for Almeida’s next bout.
An incredible 17-time IBJJF black belt world champion and a two-time ADCC champion, Marcus Almeida is one of the most accomplished jiu-jitsu players to ever make the transition to MMA. If he does in fact compete on the December 5 ONE Championship show, he’ll be sharing the card with another jiu-jitsu specialist, Garry Tonon, who challenges for the featherweight title that night.
