“Go out there and make smoke come out of those gloves,” a coach of his would tell him before a fight. Having won it, he earned the nickname “Smokin’ Joe.”
A world champion and gold medalist at the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo, Joe Frazier shall always be remembered for his epic battles with Muhammad Ali. He died at 67 years of age from liver cancer.
