The lineup for the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) Pro League GP 2017 Heavyweight Championship on August 26th just keeps getting more and more exciting. Joining the lineup are Jão Gabriel Rocha and Mahamed Aly, two skilled fighters who are bound to heat up the tournament.
Here’s a quick overview of these newly added fighters:
Jão Gabriel Rocha
Rocha is a Brazillian-born fighter who was trained under Rafael “Formiga” Barbosa and Leandro Escobar. This is not Rocha’s first foray into the IBJJF, as he won the IBJJF World Championship’s blue and brown belt division in 2008 and 2011/2012 respectively as well as the IBJJF Pan American brown and black belt championship in 2012 and 2017. Rocha’s experience will no doubt come in handy on August 26th.
Mahamed Aly
Aly is a Brazilian-born fighter who trained under Lloyd Irvin, Everaldo Penco, Antônio Rogério and Antônio Rodrigo Nogueira. Most recently, Aly earned the black belt title at the 2017 IBJJF Pan American Championship and was named the IBJJF World Championship black belt runner-up in 2015. These wins send a signal that Aly will certainly be a force to reckon with in August.
Both of the previously mentioned fighters make incredible additions to the already impressive lineup of the Jiu-Jitsu Federation Pro League GP 2017 Heavyweight Championship. Be sure to mark your calendars for August 26th, as it will be interesting to see which of these skilled fighters ends up coming out on top.
