It probably won’t surprise anyone to hear that Mackenzie Dern has won again. After all, she is widely considered to be the world’s top female jiu-jitsu fighter. Dern beat Katherine Roy in a March 10th match in San Antonio, in a Legacy fighting bout.
Although Dern wasn’t able to take her opponent down in the first and third rounds, she was still able to comfortably win the match standing up, as she aptly put it. Dern also acknowledged that, despite the victory, her weight is still an issue, and that she intended to remain in the strawweight category, a weight category introduced in 2014.
