In the final stretch of her preparation for the 2017 ADCC World Championships, which will take place this weekend in Finland, Mackenzie Dern also has MMA in her crosshairs.
Dern, who will defend her 66kg title at the ADCC Worlds, has announced on social media that her next engagement in an MMA cage is set for Oct. 13 at LFA 24, and it’s a flyweight (57kg) bout.
Undefeated in MMA with three wins, Dern will face Mandy Polk (3w, 3l) in Phoenix, Arizona.
Dern achieved her three wins in the strawweight division, but recent problems cutting weight for BJJ events may indicate that reaching the 52kg required for strawweight fights is more challenging than anticipated.
