Mackenzie Dern made a successful MMA debut; Robert Drysdale won light-heavyweight title at Legacy

World Jiu-Jitsu champion and ADCC champion, Mackenzie Dern made a successful MMA debut at Legacy 58, held on Friday, July 22, in Lake Charles, La. Dern dominated all three rounds against Kenia Rosas and won via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-26, 30-25).

In the beginning of first round, Dern took his opponent down, took the back and tried the rear-naked-choke. At the second round, the Jiu-Jitsu star don’t had a problem to taking her opponent to the ground again. This time she worked at the mounted position and applied good shots, but Kenia survived and the fight went to the third round.

Mackenzie Dern continued to dominate the fight. She applied the takedown and worked her ground game. At the final of the fight, the multiple-time Jiu-Jitsu champion tried an armbar, but Rosas didn’t give up and the fight was decided by referees, with the unanimous decision going to Dern.

At the main event, the ADCC champion Robert Drysdale, also world champion and leader of the Zenith JJ, finished Ryan Spann with rear-naked-choke in the second round and won the light heavyweight belt from Legacy.
