BJJ superstar Mackenzie Dern will reportedly return to the UFC Octagon this October, according to ESPN.
Dern, whose last MMA fight took place in May 2018, has taken some time away from fighting after getting pregnant and having her first baby, Moa, in June. Now, though, the fighter is in talks to face Amanda Ribas on October 12. Both fighters have verbally agreed to the 115-lb contest, but haven’t signed contracts yet.
Dern, who is 7-0 in the cage, will be a good match for Ribas. A 7-1 fighter and BJJ black belt, Ribas has won three of her own fights (including her UFC debut) via submission and competed at EBI 16. While she may not have the jiu-jitsu record that Dern boasts this fight could certainly be an interesting one if it ends up on the ground.
