A middleweight bout between former Strikeforce champion Luke Rockhold and Tim Boetsch has been scheduled for this fall, according to media reports on Wednesday.
The Rockhold-Boetsch tilt will take place as part of the UFC 166 pay-per-view on Oct. 19 in Houston’s Toyota Center.
Rockhold (10-2) was last seen losing his UFC debut to Vitor Belfort at UFC on FX 8 in May. Prior to the defeat, Rockhold spent some time as Strikeforce’s last 185-pound title holder, beating the likes of Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza and Tim Kennedy.
Boetsch (16-6), like Rockhold, is also coming off a loss, dropping a unanimous decision to Mark Munoz at UFC 162. The loss was his second in a row, after compiling a four-fight win streak since dropping to middleweight.
UFC 166 is headlined by a heavyweight title fight between champion Cain Velasquez and former title holder Junior dos Santos.
