Three-time lightweight BJJ world champion Lucas Lepri attained this week the third degree on his black belt. The graduation took place at Alliance in Rio de Janeiro. Lepri, who became a black-belt in 2006 by the hands of Elan Santiago, got the new degree in a ceremony attended by Alliance leaders Fabio Gurgel, Romero Jacaré and Gigi Paiva, as well as Santiago, who physically placed the degree on the belt.
“Today is a special day for Lucas,” Jacaré said at the celebration, “because we’re giving him his third degree. He will soon turn ten years as a black-belt, so it’s a special occasion. It’s no accident that he’s a three-time world champion. This year he had an impeccable campaign! In my opinion, he was the strongest black-belt at the Worlds.”
