London, England, is the latest major metropolis added to the IBJJF’s list of cities to host the Jiu-Jitsu governing body’s International Open tournaments: the inaugural London Open is just around the corner, and anyone looking to catch a glimpse of the likes of Roger Gracie, Bráulio Estima and Lúcio “Lagarto” Linhares leading their troops into gi-clad combat can make their way to the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre on Ledrington Road on the 1st and 2nd of October to get in on the excitement.
Now anyone looking to test their mettle on the mat and vie for the distinction of being the first-ever London Open champion needs to act quick and sign up by Tuesday, September 27 at 6pm GMT. To sign up and for further information, click here.
Some pertinent information regarding the event:
All black belts must be registered with the IBJJF, with valid IBJJF ID cards;
The other belt groups need not be registered with the IBJJF;
Black belts registering now will be provided IDs valid until December 2012;
Any athletes whose academies are not registered in the IBJJF database should email membership@ibjjf.com;
