The IBJJF Heavyweight GP has just lost two of its biggest names.
While many expected Gordon Ryan to pull out following his knee injury and subsequent surgery, he is still in (for now at least), but Lo and Buchecha are out. According to Flograppling, Lo and Buchecha are out due to scheduling conflicts, which is usual considering they were both announced almost 6 months ago.
With ADCC fast approaching, it seems like a lot of grapplers are keeping their cards close to their chest and favoring superfights over tournaments. Lo and Buchecha will be missed, but the IBJJF have picked up some good replacements.
Luiz Panza will be filling the void left by his team mate Buchecha and former ADCC and World champion Roberto Cyborg Abreu will be replacing LO.
The IBJJF Heavyweight GP goes down on August 24 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
