FloGrappling’s Who’s Number One is coming back on June 5 in Dallas, TX, and their main event is going to bring the fireworks.
Kyle Boehm, one of 10th Planet’s most prominent athletes, will be facing off against double 2019 ADCC champ Gordon Ryan in the headliner for the event. The match, which will be submission-only and have no time limit, is one that many people have been calling for since Boehm defeated Lucas Barbosa to win $10k at the BJJ Fanatics Invitational back in November. Boehm has had a strong black belt showing so far, but we’ll have to see if it will be enough to defeat Ryan, who hasn’t suffered a defeat in competition since 2018.
In the co-main event, Gordon’s brother Nicky Ryan will go head to head with ADCC standout Tye Ruotolo, who placed fourth in the elite competition last year as a 16-year-old blue belt. Nicky, who also had an impressive run at ADCC, also made his name as a grappling prodigy from a young age, and his 15-minutes sub-only match with Tye will be an exciting one for those who have followed these competitors’ careers.
FloGrappling has also shared that Tye’s twin brother Kade Ruotolo will be on the card as well, this time against Renzo Gracie/TriStar’s formidable Ethan Crelinsten. Like his brother, Kade has been a serious force in the grappling scene, submitting Absolute MMA standout Jeremy Skinner at GrappleFest 7. Crelinsten, however, has been making a name for himself over the years and recently took home some serious cash after winning JitzKing Promotions’ tournament in January.
Who’s Number One will stream live on FloGrappling on June 5 from Dallas, TX.
