The coronavirus pandemic has impacted the whole world, and while everyone is handling the situation differently, some people are using their fear to justify verbal or physical attacks on people of Asian descent. Over 650 racist acts against Asian-Americans were reported in just one week in late March alone, according to online reporting forum Stop AAPI Hate.
Now, a BJJ black belt from Atlanta, Georgia is speaking up about coronavirus-related xenophobia. In the video below Kenny Kim of Kenny Kim BJJ discusses his thoughts on the racism and fear expressed toward Asian-Americans and reminds us that we aren’t born with hate in our hearts.
