Kingz Nanō 2.0 Review

When it comes to buying Brazilian Jiu Jitsu gear, the most important thing in my opinion is choosing a brand with a proven history. Kingz is fast becoming one of the most well respected jiu jitsu apparel brands in the worlds and recently I had the opportunity to try one of the premier pieces.

While I primarily train nogi, over the past few months, I have been dabbling in the art of collar choking and during this journey, I have had the pleasure of trying out a few gis. Some good, some bad and some downright awful.

In this post, I will be reviewing the Kingz’s Nanō 2.0 kimono, which was recently sent to me.

My first impressions of the gi were that despite its lightness, it was incredibly sturdy and the fit held up well. Despite drying it in the dryer, I noticed minimal shrinkage which can be attributed to the fact that Kingz pre shrink the gi by 90%.

I border on the verge of A2/A3, but found the A2 fit me well and I really appreciated the reinforced stitching which limited any real wear and tear so far while I have been wearing it.

I loved the gi bag I received with the product and in general, I found the whole Kingz aesthetic to be really eye catching. I have found some gis to be overtly stylised, but the subtly of the Kingz Nano 2 really really appeals to me and I will be making it my primary competition gi moving forward.

All in all, I would recommend the Kingz Nano 2.0 as the perfect lightweight competition gi. The Nano 2.0 is also comfortable and light enough to use during summer months, when the last thing you need is a heavy restrictive gi.
