Khabib Nurmagomedov Vs. Tony Ferguson To Headline April UFC Event

A matchup that UFC fans have been dreaming of for ages now looks like it may finally come to fruition, according to ESPN reporter Brett Okamoto.

Okamoto has reported that Dana White is targeting a fight between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson for an April 18 UFC PPV event. The fight would headline the event, which will be taking place in Brooklyn, NY.

While the fight hasn’t been finalized and no contracts have yet been signed, Okamoto says that both fighters have stated their interest in both the date and the matchup itself.

Ferguson is a 25-3 fighter who has finished 80 percent of the fights he’s won before the clock ran out. His dominant victories over fighters like Anthony Pettis and Kevin Lee have made him a fan favorite and an obvious potential opponent for Nurmagomedov.

Nurmagomedov, on the other hand, is currently 28-0. His notoriety as one of the UFC’s best and most entertaining fighters skyrocketed even further after his infamous defeat of Conor McGregor back in 2018, and he then went on to submit Dustin Poirier with a rear naked choke a few months ago.

We’ll provide updates of this fight as we receive them.
