Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, father and trainer of UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, is reportedly awake after being put into a medically induced coma.
The 57-year-old Abdulmanap was flown from Dagestan to Moscow to a military hospital following complications from pneumonia. He was placed into a medically induced coma, and now, Russian media sources are saying that he’s received heart surgery and is now out of the coma.
Doctors are still concerned for Abdulmanap’s condition and are still prohibiting his loved ones from visiting him in the hospital.
The news that Abdulmanap was unwell prompted well wishes from many figures in the MMA community, including Khabib’s rival, Conor McGregor:
