Umar Nurmagomedov made quite the impression during his UFC debut at UFC Fight Island 8 today.
The cousin of Khabib Nurmagomedov went up against Sergey Morozov of Kazakhstan and ended up expanding his undefeated professional MMA record against the former M-1 Global champion. In the midst of the second round of their fight, Nurmagomedov got to Morozov’s back and locked on a rear naked choke. Though Morozov tried to defend the choke, he soon went limp, having gone to sleep. The referee called the fight, and Nurmagomedov took home his thirteenth professional win.

The win comes exactly nine years to the day after Khabib’s own UFC debut, which he also won by rear naked choke.
