A moment fight fans and grappling fans have been waiting for: Khabib Nurmagomedov is in for ADCC 2022.
Earlier today, Mo Jassim reached out to Jiu-Jitsu Times to offer us an exclusive scoop, The Eagle is landing. Retired undefeated MMA star Khabib Nurmagomedov has thrown his hat in the ring for ADCC 2022 and will be competing in the 77kg division.
The 77kg division at ADCC is widely considered one of the toughest because competitors have the speed of lighter weights but the strength of heavier weights. If Khabib wants to enjoy victory he will have to go through opponents like Garry Tonon, JT Torres, Ryan Hall, and many other formidable foes.
Nurmagomedov is no stranger to grappling, after all, he is a 2-time combat sambo world champion and a black belt in Judo. If he manages to win, he will be the first jiu-jitsu white belt since Mark Kerr to win.
When we reached out to Khabib, he was characteristically laconic
“I am coming to smesh your boys, I come to smesh Garry, JT, Ryan, and whoever else they put in front of me. I am Sambo world champion, if Sambo was easy it would be called jiu-jitsu.”
Dillon Danis was unavailable for comment.
