Kennedy Maciel submitted Nicky Ryan in overtime at the first Studio 540 match of the day.
The match started with Nicky falling into open guard. Kennedy was able to get into north-south, where he stayed for much of the match. Kennedy then managed to get Nicky’s back and put him into a body triangle. Nicky was able to fend him off, and both competitors tried for various leg locks before regulation period ended.
As overtime began, Nicky had the offensive position for the first round, but Kennedy managed to escape without getting submitted. When Kennedy took Nicky’s back, he managed to submit Nicky with a triangle choke, making him the victor in the first round of overtime.
