Kennedy Maciel, Oliver Taza, & More To Compete At F2W 169 This Weekend

After a brief hiatus, Fight 2 Win is back this weekend in Dallas for F2W 169, and they’ve recently announced two can’t-miss matches that we can expect to see on Saturday.

F2W CEO Seth Daniels has announced that Kennedy Maciel will be taking on Joshua Cisneros in the main event, which will be for the 155lb no-gi title.

Maciel has followed up an impressive lower-belt career with an equally impressive black belt career, claiming gold at both No-Gi Worlds and No-Gi Pans since his big promotion a few years ago. He has been particularly dominant on the Fight 2 Win stage, where he claimed the lightweight gi title from Osvaldo “Queixinho” Moizinho back at F2W 151. His most recent promotional appearance saw him defend that title against Diego “Pato” Oliveira at F2W 163.

Cisneros is a new black belt, having been promoted by Tom Knox in August of last year. He’s made a spectacular impression so far, winning both Pans and American Nationals last year. His last competitive endeavor also took place on the F2W stage, where he defeated the formidable Lucas Pinheiro via referee decision at F2W 166.

Oliver Taza will be going up against Gabriel Almeida in another big match on Saturday evening. Taza, an ADCC veteran, is known for his leg lock expertise, which helped him make history as one of the first athletes ever to get a heel hook victory in an IBJJF competition last month. His last appearance for the promotion saw him take on Pedro Rocha at F2W 164. Most recently, he claimed victory over Johnny Tama at Who’s Number One.

Almeida, for his part, is also an ADCC veteran, and last year, he took home gold in his division and the absolute category at No-Gi American Nationals. A fellow F2W veteran, he’s defeated names like Roberto Jimenez, Romulo Barral, and Manuel Ribamar on the big stage. He last had a tough match against Rafael Lovato Jr. at F2W 166, and he’ll be looking to get back in the win column with a victory against Taza.

As always, we can expect to see many more exciting matches on the undercard from rising grappling stars of all levels of jiu-jitsu.

F2W 169 takes place Saturday, April 10 and can be streamed live on FloGrappling.
