Fight 2 Win returns to Minneapolis, MN this weekend, and they’re bringing with them an amazing lineup for their 118th event.
The main event of the evening will see Kennedy Maciel going up against 2016 No-Gi World champion Marcio Andre. Maciel — or “Cobrinha Jr.”, as he’s nicknamed — is the son of Rubens “Cobrinha” Charles, and he’s been carving his own path for success over the years. He won the UAEJJF World Pro last year, and after he was promoted to black belt, he quickly proved that he was worthy of the belt by winning No-Gi Worlds in 2018. Andre, however, is also a World Pro champ (2016) and also has three Euros titles to his name. Seeing a very established black belt face off against one of the sport’s hottest up-and-comers will be a thrill for everyone watching this Saturday night.
In the co-main event of the night, Tomoyuki “Passport” Hashimoto will take a stand against Jose Carlos Lima. Hashimoto, who won Pans and No-Gi Worlds in 2018, is one of the sport’s top roosterweights, and he’ll have an exciting challenge on his hands with Lima. Lima, for his part, is well known in the UAEJJF circuit, boasting a 2018 World Pro title and multiple Grand Slam gold medals among his many achievements.
Before their matches, though, Talita Alencar will go up against Amanda Monteiro. Alencar has won many of the sport’s most sought-after titles, including Worlds, No-Gi Worlds, Pans, and the World Pro. However, she has a very worthy opponent in Monteiro, who is also a World Champion and has additionally claimed gold at Euros and No-Gi Pans.
