The Ultimate Fighter 17 winner earned himself a huge win tonight when he toppled middleweight Tim Kennedy in the third round.
It started out rough for Gastelum, who spent the first half of the first round struggling to get the visibly bigger Kennedy off of his back.
But when he did, the match was all Kelvin. The TUF 17 winner easily outboxed Kennedy, showing a looser and more fluid style. Kelvin tagged Tim with jabs and combos throughout the second round.
By the time the third round came along, Tim Kennedy looked like he was plodding through mud. Kelvin, on the other hand, looked the same as he did at the beginning of the fight. Gastelum picked Kennedy apart, landing some huge shots in the middle of the round that put Kennedy on the ground and forced the referee to stop the fight.
