3rd Coast Grappling has just announced an exciting main event that will headline their inaugural competition on January 12.
Fresh off an impressive performance at Polaris 8, Keenan Cornelius himself will face off against World Series of Grappling 2 champion Manuel Ribamar. This won’t be the first time the two have gone up against each other on the mats — just last year, Cornelius defeated Ribamar with a rear naked choke in the absolute division’s quarter-finals at No-Gi Worlds. Ribamar may be hungry to settle the score, but neither competitor will provide an easy victory for his opponent.
The co-main event will also be one to remember, with Victor Pozas and Bill Cooper preparing to tear up the mats. Both athletes have established themselves as fierce competitors on the Fight 2 Win stage, and Cooper made it to the finals of EBI 7 back in 2016.
These matches will be preceded by an undercard full of the area’s best talent, showcasing some of the best jiu-jitsu the “third coast” has to offer.
The first ever 3rd Coast Grappling event will take place at 8 pm on January 12, 2019 at Scout Bar Houston. Part of the proceeds from the event will support the We Defy Foundation.
