Kasai Pro 7 has the potential to give us multiple ADCC 2019 rematches, plus a few matches we wish we could’ve seen.
The promotion now has just two spots left for its Februrary 2020 event, with the existing places currently being filled by ADCC +99kg champion Kaynan Duarte, ADCC +99kg silver medalist Nick Rodriguez, Roberto “Cyborg” Abreu, Joao Gabriel Rocha, Bruno Bastos, and Patrick Gaudio.
With Duarte, Rodriguez, Cyborg, and Gaudio all coming into the event after competing at ADCC this year, there exists the potential for multiple rematches, with Cyborg having the potential to avenge his controversial loss against Rodriguez and Rodriguez possibly getting a third chance to defeat Duarte. Rocha was also scheduled to compete in the event, but had to withdraw due to injury, so we may get to see how he would’ve done against some of this year’s top competitors.
There are now just two open spots remaining, and we’ll be keeping an eye out to see who else will enter the field against these elite-level grapplers.
Kasai Pro 7 will take place on February 1, 2020 in Dallas, Texas.
