Kayla Harrison Vs. Cindy Dandois To Headline Final Card Of 2021 PFL Regular Season

Two-time Olympic gold medalist and 2019 PFL Lightweight Champion Kayla Harrison is set to headline the upcoming PFL 6 card against Cindy Dandois.

In a press release, the PFL shared the upcoming lineup for the final card of the promotion’s regular season for the year, which also includes a co-main event between Renan Ferreira and Ali Isaev. Two other fights — one between Denis Goltsov and Mohammed Usman and one between Fabricio Werdum and Brandon Sayles — will also be featured on the main card.

Harrison, who is undefeated in her MMA career so far, is coming off a first-round finish of Mariana Morais at PFL 3 back in May. The 2019 champ had only one fight in 2020 — an Invicta bout against Courtney King, which Harrison finished in the second round — due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but she’s had a strong start to her second season with the promotion.

This will be Dandois’ sophomore fight for the PFL. Though she dropped a decision to Kaitlin Young at PFL 3, snapping her four-fight winning streak, Dandois has proven herself to be a dominant fighter with a knack for finishing her opponents. In a Jiu-Jitsu Times interview, Harrison herself named Dandois as an “exciting” opponent, given Dandois’ judo experience.

Ferreira and Werdum, of course, will be walking into their respective PFL 6 fights following their controversial fight at PFL 3. Ferreira tapped out to Werdum’s triangle choke, but the referee didn’t see and allowed the fight to continue. Werdum, however, let the choke go after feeling the tap, and Ferreira capitalized on the opportunity and knocked out his opponent. Ferreira’s polarizing win was later overturned, and the bout was labeled a no-decision.

This time around, Ferreira will be facing Isaev, who is undefeated after nine professional fights and has finished his last two contests with TKOs. Werdum, on the other hand, will be facing the formidable Sayles, who won his PFL debut with a rear naked choke against Usman at PFL 3.

PFL 6 will take place on Friday, June 25. The prelims will be available to stream live on ESPN+, and the main card will stream on ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes.
