Olympic gold-medal-winning judoka and undefeated professional MMA fighter Kayla Harrison has found her next opponent, and we’ll get to see her fight one more time before the year’s end.
ESPN was the first to report that Harrison, who is currently sitting on a record of 8-0, will be taking on Jozette Cotton in a December 17 fight at Titan FC 66. This won’t be the first time the fighters have faced each other — Harrison got a TKO win over the 8-2 Cotton at a PFL fight in 2018 (which was Cotton’s most recent professional fight), and now, Cotton will have the opportunity to try to make their score 1-1.
Harrison is a PFL champion and is currently under an exclusive contract for the promotion, but the PFL has allowed her to compete outside of their organization due to their 2020 season being postponed by the COVID-19 pandemic. She most recently fought her way to a TKO win against Courtney King at Invicta FC 43 in November, and not even a month will have passed between fights when she steps up to battle at Titan FC 66.
Titan FC COO Lex McMahon told ESPN that he’s considering the Harrison vs. Cotton fight as the main event for the evening, but that the main event hasn’t yet been determined.
Titan FC 66 will take place in Miami, Florida, on Thursday, December 17 and can be streamed live on UFC Fight Pass.
