In what will likely be a surprise to very few, 2019 PFL lightweight champion and Olympic gold medalist Kayla Harrison will be going to the finals once again, this time to see if she can become the 2021 PFL lightweight champion.
Harrison earned her place in the finals tonight at PFL 8 with a first-round finish over Genah Fabian.
The fight was over quickly, with Harrison quickly working her way into the clinch and driving Fabian against the fence. She needed just a minute to bring the fight to the ground, quickly transitioning from side control to mount. From there, despite Fabian’s best efforts to defend, it was only a matter of time (and a barrage of punches) before the ref had to step in and stop the fight at four minutes and one second in the first round.
Harrison was declared the winner by TKO and advanced to the lightweight finals, where she’ll get the chance to fight for the $1,000,000 grand prize once again.
