Former Shooto world champion Willamy Chiquerim has a date and location for his next bout of fisticuffs. The native of the Brazilian state of Ceará, who lost on his UFC debut and was released from the promotion soon thereafter, will face off with hard-nosed Japanese fighter Tatsuya Kawajiri at the July 16 Dream event in Tokyo, Japan.
Chiquerim was supposed to have already made his debut on Japanese soil, but an expired passport meant he couldn’t make it to his main event showdown with Shinya Aoki at Dream 17 this past Sunday.
The July 16 event, Dream: “Fight for Japan”, will also feature Gerard Mousasi, who defend his light heavyweight title against judoka Hiroshi Izumi.
