Kasai has been building up steam ever since their inaugural event back in 2017. This has been their busiest year to date with four events in 2019 and it looks as though they’ve got no intention of slowing down next year. After starting the year strong with the first of two successful Super Series events, Kaynan Duarte was crowned Light-Heavyweight champion. Most recently, they held a star-studded Bantamweight tournament that resulted in Joao Miyao being crowned champion.
Kasai is already building hype for their first event of 2020 as they look to crown a Heavyweight champion. Kaynan returns to take a shot at becoming a double-champ in the promotion and is accompanied by the man he beat in the ADCC 2019 finals, Nicky Rodriguez. Bruno Bastos and Joao Gabriel Rocha were also part of the original four entrants for the tournament. Now that Roberto “Cyborg” Abreu and Patrick Gaudio have been announced alongside them, the tournament is shaping up to be a great one.
The two latest additions also featured at this year’s ADCC finals which should result in Kasai delivering some opportunities for redemption. With two spaces remaining, there is still no way of knowing how the event will turn out. The event takes place on February 1st 2020 in Dallas, Texas and should be one to watch!
The rest of this month is packed full of grappling action, For tickets to the upcoming Polaris 12 on 30th November in Newport, South Wales, click here.
