After the success of last year’s KASAI Pro tournament, it should come as no surprise that the promotion is gearing up for another action-packed event.
KASAI Pro 2 will be going down this April from the Greenpoint Terminal Warehouse in Brooklyn, New York.
However, before the event goes down, there will be a qualifying event in March.
KASAI released the following about their qualifying event:
Taking place Saturday March 3, at the Renzo Gracie Fight Academy in Brooklyn, New York, this one-day no-gi event is open to grapplers competing at 185lbs (83.9kg). The tournament will feature six-minute bouts and will use the IBJJF points system. No advantages will be awarded and all submissions are legal. The winner of this tournament will advance to the eight-man KASAI Pro World Middleweight Championship currently scheduled for April 14.
“We are thrilled to bring KASAI’s dynamic amateur qualifier series back to New York City,” said Rolles Gracie, KASAI President. “The event complements our mission to showcase the next wave of BJJ talent.”
Interested parties can sign up for KASAI Pro 2’s amateur qualifier via KASAI’s website or SmoothComp. Tournament registration is open to parties aged 18 and above.
