A match-up of elite lightweight grapplers is set for Fight To Win 208. On Saturday, August 6, current Fight To Win lightweight champion Josh Cisneros will put his belt on the line against the B-Team’s Damien Anderson.
Like all other Fight To Win matches, Cisneros and Anderson will square off in a submission-only affair. In the event the match ends with no submission, a trio of judges will determine the winner.
A representative of Ares BJJ, Cisneros captured the Fight To Win lightweight title last year when he defeated Kennedy Maciel in the second of two highly entertaining matches between the pair. Cisneros would go on to have an excellent showing at the ADCC West Coast Trials, defeating the likes of Adam Benayoun and Gianni Grippo on his way to a second place finish. His efforts would earn him an invite to the 2022 ADCC World Championships.
Anderson is a well-established elite no-gi competitor. Although he tends to find the most success with his leg lock game, Anderson’s work with the B-Team has paid dividends, as he has shown serious improvement in his wrestling and guard passing. Like Cisneros, Anderson impressed at the ADCC West Coast Trials where he advanced to the semifinals and had a match of the year contender against Andrew Tackett.
Cisneros and Anderson have met previously; Cisneros submitted Anderson at the Who’s Number One championships in September 2021.
