Another replacement has shaken up the upcoming Combat Jiu-Jitsu event.
EBI announced yesterday that Josh Barnett is out of the competition and will be replaced by Stephen Martinez. Martinez is an IBJJF world champion and a 12-5 MMA fighter who has fought for Bellator. He will be facing Yuri Simoes in the first round of the bracket.
On the other side of the bracket, former UFC fighter and Rickson Gracie black belt Kevin Casey (who replaces Rustam Chsiev following an injury) will face 10th Planet standout Jon Blank, who’s the EBI middleweight Combat Jiu-Jitsu champion.
The original bracket experienced its first big change when Gordon Ryan was forced to withdraw after an LCL injury at the Kasai Super Series. His match with Fabricio Werdum was called off and replaced with one between Josh Barnett and Yuri Simoes.
Combat Jiu-Jitsu Fight Night will take place in Los Angeles, CA on February 22 and will be available to watch live exclusively on UFC Fight Pass.
