In an absolutely mouth-watering announcement, ESPN has confirmed the rumored bout between Street Jesus Jorge Masvidal and UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman is verbally agreed to by both parties for UFC 251. The news comes off the heels of former challenger Gilbert Burns being pulled from the fight after testing positive for COVID-19, the latest in a string of fighters sidelined by the disease.
The bout is reliant on a forthcoming COVID test from Masvidal. With both Masvidal and Usman coming off of career defining performances against high level opponents in Nate Diaz and Colby Covington respectively, this upcoming title fight could cerement the legacy of either man.
